Okay! I know exactly why it does this. Let me explain. In our situation, we select our contacts from the contact list using the up and down arrows. Then, pressing enter makes a normal call and selects the contact in question. But, the fact of positioning the arrow on the contact doesn't select it. That's why the menus were unavailable. Once a normal call has been done, the contact is in fact selected and the other operations such as video calls can be performed.
