You are probably not going to notice the audio improvements on a Skype to landline call. You will probably notice this the most while doing a Skype to Skype call. That being said, Skype does require less bandwidth than before. So you will not have issues with calls breaking up. also considering the fact that it requires less CPU resources. so if you find yourself while in a call performing a computing intensive tasks. You will not have a breakup issue than either. So even if you are going to use Skype for simply making landline calls. I would recommend the 4.0 upgrade. It is true that the user interface does take some getting used to. However I believe that with a little playing that most people will find the interface better than the old one. Of course this is simply my personal opinion, for whatever it might be worth. I do hope that this helps.
