Hello, I've also done this now for an account of mine witch I did not need and its name is gone from the Skype sign in screen. I don't know why this doesn't work for you. Did you restart Skype after that? Did you actually did the procedure after Skype was totally closed (e.g. closed from the Exit command from its system tray icon)?
