Well, there's always Linux.

This one is going off topic as it is, but since I tried Vista recently I'll
say a thing or two.
I use computers from '96 and I tried all of the Microsoft OSes from DOS 6.22
with Windows 3.11, Windows 95 in few versions, 98 and 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP
and Server 2003.
Microsoft never made bugs and faults in any of them as they did with Vista.
When I tried working with Magnifier, which I was doing in all the OSes I've
mentioned I never had any problems. When I use Magnifier in Vista, my mouse
pointer slows down and blinks, which has something to do with Video
Intercepting. NVDA speaks and announces things when it shouldn't do that,
and goes silent when it has to speak. My audio driver for Audigy 2 doesn't
work correctly and I can't set it to Auxilary with my TV Tuner Card because
Auxilary channel is not there!
These are the things I've noticed in couple of hours setting up and working
with Vista Enterprise and which NEVER happened to me with other MS operating
systems.
Another thing is that NT based systems like 2K, 2K3 and XP worked smoothly
with Service Pack installed. I was hoping that Vista is going to get over
usual child diseases with SP, but it didin't happen.
Guess I'll stick with XP as long as I can continuing to sign "SaveXP" web
petition, and when it finally goes down I'm switching to Ubuntu or
something.
