Hello,

My name is Sieghard, I'm from Smithers, British Columbia, Canada and I'm a
new subscriber to the list and I hope somebody can help me with a problem I
am having with Doug Lee's latest scripts (revision 618).

I am using the latest version of Jaws 9.0 and Skype 3.6.

My problem:
I am getting an error message when I do the final compile of the
"Default.jss" script file and the same message also is heard each time I
start Jaws (or the computer) and each time when I shut down or restart the
computer just before Jaws says that Windows is now shutting down.
Interestingly enough the scripts run just fine and seem to function
perfectly.

Here is the message I am getting:
Can ' t create scripting .file system object object

I put a "space" in front of and behind the "'" in "can't" because when Jaws
speaks the message the "'" is pronounced (not that it really matters).
Jaws also pronounces "dot" just before the word "file".

Here is exactly when the message appears for the first time:

1. I go through the steps of copying "Default.jsb" into the "My Settings"
folder and renaming it "Default_FS.jsb". Then I open the Script Manager,
start a new untitled script file and paste the code Doug provides in his
instructions.

2. I then compile this with Control+S, give it the name "Default.jss" and
get a message that everything is fine.

3. As per Doug's instructions, I then add the following line into the
script:
Use "Skypewatch.jsb"

4. When I compile this I get the message "Compile Complete" and immediately
after I hear "Can ' t create scripting .file system object object"

So, I assume it has something to do with what is in the "Skypewatch.jsb"
file, but even though I have been using Jaws since 1989, I am not a script
writer and definitely would appreciate any suggestions. Maybe Doug will read
this and have an immediate answer.

Regards,
Sieghard
