I have been running the Beta version since the beginning of this month and installed the final release without any issues. The sound quality is truly improved as compared to 3.6. Based on my testing for the last month, things seem to be working really well with the Beta and really well with the Final Release with nothing being broken.
If I were you, I think that there is nothing to lose and go for the upgrade.
