That would certainly make folks feel more comfortable and give them a bit
more control. You might to incude an algorithm for detecting if their skype
watch has been installed the old way and implementing the procedure that
doug posted last night, since the old way of installing SkypeWatch is no
longer supported. Also, perhaps there should also be a prompt to back up the
user default file somewhere if it does need to be deleted, or it should
simply be backed up automatically, notifying the user where it has been
backed up or renamed if it is kept in the same folder.

Subject: [Skypeenglish] Some ideas for final SkypeWatch installer 1.0

Hi all,

I got an idea for something I wish to implement in SkypeWatch Installer
1.0, and I need Your personal opinion concerning this.

I want to switch from standard dialog user interface to a wizard
interface, since most installers are using wizards (that is dialog pages
with back, next, cancel buttons and other controls). So when you launch
the program, the first wizard page will show you the wellcome message
which displays info about the program etc. and a combo box with
available languages for SkypeWatch Installer interface (currently
SkypeWatch Installer is translated in Croatian, and I'm waiting for a
greek translation). After you choose Next> button, the second wizard
page will show you available JAWS versions and their languages. The
third wizard page will show you the actions for SkypeWatch Installer
(install, remove etc). Finally, when you click Next after making all of
the choices on second and third wizard page, the chosen action will be
started. After an action is complete, it will show the finish page and
you will then simply press the Finish button to end the program.

On each wizard page, I will also add a text description for all
available choices.

So, what do you think? Is it easier with a dialog box or can I make a
wizard interface?

Just a note, I was planning to implement an old method of installing
SkypeWatch as an additional option in 1.0, but since Doug stated that
the old way will not work in newer version of scripts, there's no need
for that.

Hrvoje
