Well, for instance, if you gonna use Windows 7 one day, and that day will
come sooner or later, you'll need to use 4.1 because 3.8 has compatibility
issues.
I don't like it either, but like Celine Dion would say, that's just the way
it is.:).
I gave 4.1 achance, I used it over two months and I believe I could get used
to its interface and new commands, I just don't have a time to learn it
right now.

If one wants the new skype to behave like older 3.8 so bad why not just
keep

After turning on the classic menus, Skype 4.1 works just fine for me.

Sorry I think it is time for people just to learn the new interface.
You
can turn on compact view witch will do a little of what you want but
basicly
if you want to get the full use out of the program your going to have to
learn and use the new interface. Change happens and your just going to
have
to accept it and deal with it.

Hello Doug!
In one post, you mention that a person can make Skype 41 similar to
Skype 38
by making a few checks of boxes in skype. Would it be possible for you,
either through your scripts or just in an outline form, give the
instructions on actually how one can go about setting up Skype 41 for
use.
I think this is the major problem people have with 41; there is too much
changing of the screen and too many things popping up all over the
place; it
is hard keeping up with it. I don't mind the changes Skype makes, but I
just want to be able to get where I want to go and have the menus and
tabs
be where I expect them to do. In other words, I want the history tab to
work like before; when I go there with CTRL-8 and arrow down to a
particular
item and click on it for deletion, I want it to delete. I think this
would
help if you maybe in a brief notation, give us the exact steps to
setting up
skype's interface so we can recognize it. I mostly want the main
functions
I use to work for me: making contact calls; making phone calls to
US/Canada
and internationally from my contact list by just clicking on them or
making
the dial area easily reachable; maybe having the scripts make skype tell
us
how many conversations are open at a time as each open (three contacts
or
four and so forth and so on); have the tabs numbered like before and a
control key plus a number could get to anyone of them and make those be
true; make sending text messages be like before (just go to options,
arrow
down to send sms messages or hit the first letter attributed to this
item,
type in your phone number to receive text, tab over to message and enter
message, and then tab to send message and send it, and you could just
tab
around and send as many as you wish). The scripts work fine; they are
not
the problem; it is just skype 41 appears to be too movable, you can't
tell
when something may change on the screen. We just want skype to be more
stable and work for the things we want. I know skype is free, but they
off
services that we pay for, and they made the choice to give the service
free.
For some reason, they seem to feel that making the product as
unreachable or
unaccessible as possible each time they upgrade. They can still make
their
improvements and keep things stable. Anyway, I just want skype to make
their menus and tabs work as before. So, to make a long story short,
could
you assist us by telling us exactly how to set up my skype screen, tabs,
and
feature to give us the chance to make the best of it. If I can get my
screen looking like before and reach each and every tab and feature like
before, I will be glad. I am not asking for skype to change their
features,
I just want to be able to use them as easily as before. I don't even
mind
learning new keystrokes and/or scripts. Just make all features true and
reachable. I don't want to spend all day trying to figure out how to
send a
text message or make a telephone call.
