as far as i know it is not possible to prevent the announcement of
unselected in your contacts
if anyone else can provide an alternative method to this then i will of
learnt something myself
the reason it says unselected is because you have not spoken to any of the
contacts
when you have spoken to one all contacts bar 1 will say unselected
the one you spoke to last will say selected
you can get the announcement to say selected on one of your contacts by
selecting the contact you want and press the space bar
the best one for this is the skype call center
reason for this is because if you hit the wrong key like i have you can call
someone in your list when you may not want to
if this happens with the call center you can hang up the call with no
embarrassing situations
i have done this so many times so i try to rest the selected contact as the
call centre
re your online status you should get to it by pressing the alt key
then right arrow as this is a menu with a sub menu
in there you will have a choice of options 1 of which will be online
select this by placing the cursor on online and press enter
