It will announce who's calling, but not who's signing in and out. The reason I like 4.2 so well is because I now have my volume controls back. Under tools, options, audio settings, the sliders are there, and the left and right arrows will move them. And, in the conversation window, there's a slider for your speaker volume as well. This has litterally made the difference in me talking on skype or not. Used to, it was a pain for me to keep my volume adjusted, since I use a headset with skype, and the headset is not my default device.
