While Doug has done a great job with your first 3 questions, I'll chime in
with info on number 4.
You set the 4 digit pin for your Skype to go number in your skype to go
settings in your Skype account.
Next, ring your Skype to go number from your home phone. When it asks for
the PIN, enter it from the buttons on your phone. From here, you have
registered your home phone for use with Skype to go, unless your home phone
has your outgoing number blocked. I believe you may not be able to register
it if it is blocked from the identification system.
Skype to go is a nice service. It is especially handy when your machine is
down.
Be aware of one significant limitation of Skype to go. Besides retrieving
voicemails, it can only be used for calling international numbers. To
clarify, my Skype to go number is in New Zealand, so I can't use Skype to go
to make calls to other New Zealand numbers.

To check the Skype version, type Ctrl+JAWSKey+V in a Skype window.
Skype 4.2 will not let skypeWatch announce sign ins and sign outs,
though you should still get announcements of your status changes
and of incoming calls. The SkypeTalking program is an alternative
way to get sign in/out alerts now.
When you switch from another application back to Skype, you probably
don't land on a contact or conversation list entry. Type Ctrl+1 or
Ctrl+2 for the list you want.
