apologies for locking on to this thread but i also have a question re cordless headsets from skype i have the freetalk wireless stereo headset model unknown but might be the freetalk 70
my question also reflects on charging and charging time
i have had these for almost 2 years and obviously they had their first time charge a long time ago although they work fine and are clear on modulation and sound receiving i am wondering about charging them up
when i get the warning beep i plug the charging cord in and leave overnight
when i get up i expect there to be no sound coming from the headset but there is just like i had left them switched on all the time without charging
is this normal?
should they be on when i get up?
and as this happens does this mean they did not charge?
just how long is the charging time for these and is there any way of knowing when they are charged or even if they have charged or not? if the answer is yes they will switch on automatically after charging then all is ok there.
but how long do they normally take to fully charge?

I am not sure this is exactly on topic so please, could anyone email me off list to answer the following question to avoid cluttering the list with unnecessary posts.

I would like to know if anyone on the list has bought the latest wireless Freetalk 5192 headset from the skype shop? I understand this should work once it has been charged for about 6 hours, once the USB dongle and the headset are linked. However, it does not work for me. I've tried it both on my PC and on my mac. I have also asked some of my co-workers to try it on their computers just in case and it did not work either. On the windows machine, I get a message saying that the USB deviced is not recognized and it appears as an unknown device in the device manager. As most people on the list more than likely use Windows, I am not going to discuss how this thing acts on my mac computer. So, if anybody could suggest what to do in this case to fix the problem, I would be very grateful. I was unable to find updated drivers for the device online either. I am seriously considering sending it back and either ask for a replacement or a refund. A friend recommanded me this headset so I decided to go for it. It works for him but not sure why it does not for me.

Please answer off list to avoid cluttering the list just in case this is off topic.
