Hi 1 of my friend is facing the same problem, whenever she installs skype
3.8 and gets the updates so she re-installs again she gets updates. how to
resolve the problem?

Thanks for the great response to my question, after trying the possible
solutions suggested my friend is still having the problem though not as
often.
In response to the idea that we should update to give others less problems
to both their audio quality or band width is not without its merits but
personally I will point out that though keeping up with today's technology
there is still one main reason that we both wish to stay with skype 3.8.
The interface is easy to navigate and Jaws friendly. But I am willing to
take a look at skype 4.2 with a view to finding how accessable it can be
using my backup laptop, here's hoping.

Hi Listers.I have a friend who I talk on skype on a regular basis, the
problem is that we are both using skype 3.8.0154 which we are happy with
EXCEPT EVERY TIME MY FRIEND REBOOTS HIS SYSTEM AND LOGS INTO HIS SKYPE AN
AUTOMATIC UPDATE KICKS IN AND UPDATES HIM TO SKYPE 4.2 WHICH HE TRIES TO
PREVENT AS HE DOES NOT WANT IT TO NO AVAIL.
CREATING THE SITUATION THAT MY FRIEND HAS TO UNINSTALL 4.2 AND REINSTALL
3.8 WHICH HE KEEPS ON HIS DESKTOP SO TO HAVE IT READY FOR THE NEXT TIME.
SO THE QUESTION IS, IS THERE A WAY OF STOPPING THIS UPDATE AS BOTH OF US
HAVE TRIED TO FIND A WAY BUT WITHOUT SUCCESS.
