Hi no, I haven't knowingly installed anything since yesterday but I got my girlfriend to call me quickly now having run c cleaner and using the hotkey, I had no problem this time. The only difference this time being that I didn't have SKRead in the system. I've already run a quick scan with malware bytes which didn't pick anything up but I've discovered tonight that AVG has had a program update so have decided to run a complete scan with it right now. I'm a little bit afraid to look at hardware updates using windows update in case I wreck something. I'll do it if I absolutely have to but until today, everything was fine.

Did you install a new hardware recently? Did you update any hardware driver? Do you know your type and model of your sound card? You may need to update its driver. HTH.
