Karen,
First you should probably check yourconnection to the internet and then
check your status on Skype. Checking status on Skype is a matter of pressing
your alt key within the Skype window. Doing this will take you to a heading
that says Skype from there down arrow until you hear Skype online status
submenu. To enter this submenu you will need to either press enter or press
your right arrow one time. Once the submenu is open scroll down through the
options and see which one is checked. If off line is checked then all your
contacts whether they are offline or online will appear offline. If you are
invisible people will not know you are online but you will be able to tell
they are online or off line. I think this is probably the best option until
you get more familiar with Skype; to select an option from the submenu press
enter after your screen reader says the option. Once you are able to get a
status where you can see who is online or who is off line then you will be
able to explore a little more and be able to ask specific questions to your
problems. To get to each tab or heading within Skype tab after that you can
try and down arrow to see if there are options within that area. Also listen
to your screen reader carefully as some of the tab options are buttons or
links. Which version of skype are you using? Are you using scripts? If so
which scripts are you using. Skype Talking is great and I have a readme file
for Skype Talking I can send you if you would like it.

Hello I seldom comment on this list as I don't understand anything about
skype and really could use help...Anybody want to volunteer? I go to skype
and it says everything is "unavailable" so can't do a thing and don't know
commands nothing...I have one friend over in England we have been on
skype, and have talked but now can't get the darned thing to do anything!
Please start from square one as I know nothing no instruction on

Hi list,
There seems to be an updated version of skype, however, I'm getting an
error of sorts with JFW that a screen reader can't be decteded. I don't
know whether to try and upgrade once agan, or if something is happening
with my current scripts.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Using JFW 6 and skype 4.2.
