I didn't answer this question because I didn't know the answer, but this discussion helped me think of an answer. I have tested the following procedure in Skype 5.0 beta 2 myself.
Step 1: Go to the Contacts menu and use Create New Group. At least in Skype 5.0 beta 2, nothing obvious to a JAWS user will happen, but an empty group will appear on screen. It will not be added to your contact list though. Step 2, optional: If you will want this to be a permanent group, tab to the button for adding it to your contact list, and press Space or Enter. You will be asked to name the group. Do so by editing the box you land in, then press Enter again. This step is optional and does not affect the rest of the process below. You can do this later as well if you like. Step 3: Go to the Call menu and select Add People. You will land in a list of all your contacts, in alphabetical order regardless of online status. Step 4: For each contact you want to add, arrow to it and press Enter. The contact will disappear from the list and will appear in another list that you can reach by tabbing a few times. If you need to remove a contact from the list, tab to this second list and press Enter on the contact. That will move it back to the first list. Step 5: When you're happy with the contacts in the second list, tab to the Add button and press Space. Regardless of whether you added the group to your Contact list while ago, the group will now appear in your Conversations list and will already be selected. Step 6: To call everyone in the group, tab to "Call Group" and press Space. The quickest way to get to the "Call Group" button is probably to press Enter on the Conversations list entry for the group, which puts you in its chat edit box, then tab a couple of times. Hope this helps. On Sat, Sep 04, 2010 at 01:58:36PM -0400, Josh wrote: I think that you have not recieved a reply because no one is sure as to how to go about accomplishing this. The new Skype 5.0 beta 2 advertises adding up to 9 in a conference call. I do not know if it is possible or not but maybe, I am fairly new to Skype but here is my line of thinking. If someone has similar contacts on their Skype then maybe you could call your 9 including the person that has the other contact members . the person then that has the other members to contact may be able to add the rest of the contacts through their Skype account. That would then give you the number of contacts you need in your Skype conference call. Now the fact that the group was started by you may prevent this I do not know. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Loren Buntemeyer" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 04, 2010 1:29 PM Subject: [Skypeenglish] questions about conference >I have written to the list a couple of times, but having no >response.
