It may well be true that JAWS 12 works with all Skype versions from 3.8
upwards, but that's not the same as saying you don't need scripts. In the
end, it's the choice of the user of both JAWS and Skype whether they
install the scripts or not. I've never used JAWS 12 myself, so I can't
comment on how well it works with Skype. I do use the scripts, though, and
I have done so ever since a friend sent me scripts for 3.8 last year.
Having never used Skype 5 without scripts, I can't say how usable it is
without them.

The JAWS help system says that Skype 3.8 or Skype 4.1 and later will
work with JAWS 12.
