Hi everyone:
I am new to this list and could use some assistance. I'm using Skype
Version 5.0. I'm from the United States and want to make an international
call to the UK and have $25 worth of credit, so that should be enough. The
person who I want to call is already on my contact list. When I press my
applications key, I get a choice of making a Skype call or calling her
home number, which is what I want to do. The country code has been typed
in. Skype makes the sound letting you know that it is about to call
someone. However, no connection is made. My understanding is that you need
to use Skype Access to make phone calls. However, when I try to activate
it, it tells me that this hotspot is not supported. I have a wireless
router, but am on my main computer. A friend of mine told me that I would
need to disconnect my router and connect the network cable straight into
my modem. When I explained this to Comcast, my Internet provider, they
tell me that the problem is with Skype and not the equipment. Does anyone
have suggestions? Thanks.
Thanks for posting to the skype english list.
