Hey Sharonda,
suggest her to try going to control panel, Sounds and audio devices, audio
tab, tab till she hears "Sound recording Volume button", and put the
microphone volume to 100%. If it's a different system than XP, consult the
relative procedure as appropriate.
Then in the Skype options, uncheck the check box, "Let Skype adjust
microphone settings" and also "Let Skype adjust my speakers settings".
