Well, I had to downgrade to Skype Version 4.2.0.169
because I recently saw a bug were whenever I would accept someone as a contact I'd get an error and I'll paste below fyi.
Here is my message to the support team then their response.
Hello to whom it may concern,

My name is Chela Robles with the skype name jazzytrumpet and I recently found a bug to report to you guys in Skype Version 5.1.0.104 whenever someone contacts my request on skype and I confirm by pressing add to contacts, I get
Skype

Unterminated entity.

OK

Is there a way to fix this? I use JAWS 10 with the latest JAWS scripts, on a Windows32-bit XP machine. I'm a totally blind customer of yours and do hope you can correct this error.

Thank you for taking this into consideration.

Sincerely,

Chela RoblesHello Chela,

Thank you for your reply.

We understand that you wish to report a bug on the application wherein you receive the message "Skype Unterminated entity" when you accept a contact request.

It would help us a great deal if you could provide us with a more detailed description of your issue.

Can you reply, using this email, and tell us:

Exactly what is not working?
Are you getting an error message? If you are, what does it say?

If possible, please also send us a screenshot that shows the problem in *.pdf or *.jpg format.

A "screenshot" is a digital picture that shows your computer screen. To learn how to take a screenshot, please follow the instructions for your operating system here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot#Taking_screenshot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot#Taking_screenshot)

I sent them the images successfully and then 5 minutes later got this from them:
Hello Chela,

Thank you for your reply.

We understand that you are having usability issues with Skype.

To fix this problem, please try doing the following steps:

Update Windows with the latest service packs and updates.
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/)
Be sure to include "optional updates" for new hardware updates.
Reinstall Skype*
Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX for your version of Windows.
For Windows XP, you can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3) Ensure you have the latest device drivers for your sound and video hardware. These are available on the device manufacturer's website. Ensure your firewall settings are correctly configured for use with Skype. For more information: http://www.skype.com/help/guides/firewalls (http://www.skype.com/help/guides/firewalls)

* Please follow the steps below for the proper reinstallation of Skype:

Close Skype completely.
To do this, right-click the Skype icon in the system tray at the bottom of the screen. Select Quit.

Note about your Contact List
There is no need to backup your Contact List. They are stored centrally on Skype's server. You can access them from anywhere, providing you sign in to Skype with the same Skype Name and password. You can see a detailed list of your calls and SMS messages at: https://secure.skype.com/store/myaccount/history.html (https://secure.skype.com/store/myaccount/history.html)

Save your chat history, if you want to.

Click Start and run..
Type %appdata%\skype and click OK. Your account folder appears in a new window. Copy the account folder with your Skype Name to another safe place. For example, copy it to your Desktop, burn it to a CD, or save it on a USB memory stick or card.

Uninstall Skype.

Click Start and run...
Type appwiz.cpl and click OK. A function called Add or Remove Programs appears - it is part of your Control Panel.
Scroll down and select Skype. Click Remove.

Delete the Skype application folder.

Click Start and Run..
Type %appdata% and click OK. A new window appears showing the Skype folder.
Delete the whole Skype folder.

Delete entries from the Registry Editor.

Click Start and run...
Type regedit and click OK. The Registry Editor window appears.
Select Edit from the top menu and click Find. Type Skype into the Find what field. Right-click on the Skype entry that appears in the search results and click Delete.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no entries found.

Install the latest version of Skype.
You can download the full installer from: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full (http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full).

Restore your chat history, if you want to.

Quit Skype. To do this, right-click the Skype icon in the system tray at the bottom of the screen. Select Quit.
Click Start and run..
Type %appdata%\skype and click OK.
Replace the folder showing your Skype Name with the folder that you saved to safe place.

If the above steps will not work, please try performing the reinstallation process again but this time, try installing an earlier version of Skype. You can download the installer from sites such as: http://www.oldapps.com/skype.php (http://www.oldapps.com/skype.php). We recommend downloading and installing version 4.2.0.169.

Tip: If you wish to update to the latest version again, you can do this through your Skype application by going to Help > Check for Updates.

We hope that you found this answer helpful. Should you need any further assistance or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best regards,

Leopoldo B.

I wrote them back saying the follwoing and until they correct the errors, I'll stay with the version I had reinstalled. Here is what I said: I tried everything you suggested with regards to latest version of skype so I guess I'll have to downgrade to Skype 4.2.0.169 because everything is up to date and firewall isn't blocking anything either, I'm sorry. Hope that this will be resolved in the future in upcoming versions of skype.
thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Chela Robles

Subject: [Skypeenglish] Skype crashing when clearing the history during acall

Hey all,
the subjekt says it all. When I try to clear the history by going to Tools / Options / Privacy settings, Skype crashes. Do you know what can cause this problem, or if it can be a Skype 5.1 bug? Skype 4.2 does not give this problem, just tested with a friend of mine.
Bye!
