Hey Robert,
I think there should already be an hotkey for activating it, ctrl+shift+d.
Beware though, that since I did not test it recently, I am not sure it will
work in Skype 5.1.
When in a call, press ctrl+3 for the live conversation list, then
applications key and send IM. Try pressing ctrl+shift+d here and verify if
it works to activate the DialPad.
