Hey Leslie,
use the following procedure;
1. press ctrl+2 for the conversation list, and find the one with the contact
which sent you the voicemail;
2. assuming you're using compact view, press applications key and choose
send IM;
3. press ctrl+5 and find the line which deals with the voicemail;
4. pressing tab here, you should find the play button.
