This is bad news. As you say it does not allow time for script revisions.

This is the comment which I received this afternoon, presumably with some
delay, about the lack of Skypes checkboxes which concern Skypes updates. I
am afraid Skype is forcing us to upgrade to a newer Skype version when
it's
visible; when they're hotfixes is ok, though I am not really sure it's a
great policy when newer versions of Skype will need script updates.
