It will be interesting. It seems odd they'd want Skype when Windows Live
Messenger does just about everything Skype does, probably technically in a
different way. I know Voice and video are buried in there somewhere, but if
I remember any experimenting with it, if one person's not on the same
version number, it fails. Also, I wonder if you can even conference with the
current Live Messenger? I wonder if things like the voicemail, Skype in
numbers, etc will be kept?

hi, it has already been indicated that skype functionality will be added
to the x box and windows live. no this doesn't mean the skype client is
going away at least nothing has been said about this only that windows
live will get the skype functionality. as will x box and windows phone 7.
this is a really good thing for skype and its users in my view. not to
speak of the skype investers.

I think that microsoft will most likely, if they're smart, encorperate
skype
functionality into messenger. They're in the livingroom os war, and the
xbox is he center of this particular construct.

of course not calls from messenger to messenger are free and skype to
sype will also be free. tc
