Hi everyone,
Oh! I have experienced the same recurrent problem that michael stated. I
tried many times to set up a new account and ended up repeating the same
steps without getting any further. Skype didn't provide any error
message explaining what's wrong. I just was busy and didn't raise up
this issue until this morning when i read Michael's post. Please
listers, try to reproduce this issue on your machines and tell us what
happens...

There should not be any capcha to fill out when setting up a skype
account unless things have changed. Maybe the skype username your
friend has picked is not available? Try with a different username and
see if that does the trick.

I am helping a friend set up an acount on skype. We fill out all the
information such as first and last name. e-mail Skype user name and
password etc. How ever when we hit the continue button nothing
happens his computer just sits there. Its been a while sense I have
set up my own acount. Am I missing any thing? He is running jaws 9
XP media center the captcha thing is filled out
