Yes, the same thing happens to me as well. I've allowed Skype to
configure my audio settings for some time now and I've noticed the same
thing - the microphone boost is at its maximum (30db). I havent noticed
a change in the microphone volume level, but that might be because on my
PC it's always at 100% anyway.
