I suppose that's more or less accurate. :) "Skype Me" mode was a way
of temporarily disabling your security settings so you could meet
people. If your security settings already allowed everybody to chat at
you and call you, the only thing Skype Me would do beyond that is
advertise to people that you wanted contact. Now though, even if you
can enable Skype Me mode, either with an old client or with an
API-using program like Clisk or Skypetalking, modern Skype versions
won't show people that you're in Skype Me mode anyway, so the effect
is pretty much the same as allowing everything manually in Options,
unless I am missing something.
