I have included everything I can think of in that regard in the directions, including a bit of info on how to use "diff" utilities to simplify things further. As for 7Zip, I have not heard of that being a problem on XP, though I've only used command-line versions of 7Zip myself. The one called 7z.exe works for me. The one called 7za.exe does not. I've been saying for quite a while, in messages and on my web site, that I was going to stop sending out the zip and original installer files for Skype releases. This is because all known concerns they addressed are also addressed by the newer installer, as described below. As of today, Skype scripts are going out just in the new installer. The original installer and the zip file formats are going away. Reasons I'm doing this, in no particular order: - Less maintenance work per script release. - Smaller installer size. - Far easier Skypewatch setup for users. - Much cleaner handling of script replacement on updates. - Installer files can be unpacked without running the installer. If you had a reason you used either the old installer or the zip file, chances are the rest of this message will tell you how to do it with the newer installer. The following are the only two reasons I've heard of people doing this in the last half year or more. For people who don't use Skypewatch and noticed that the new installer installs it: Disable its messages through the JAWS Verbosity Options dialog (Insert+V). This will avoid any spoken messages from Skypewatch. For those who prefer to install things manually, or to inspect the contents of an installer without running it: You can use the 7Zip program to examine and/or unpack the installer without running it. You could even manually install and compile the scripts that way if you prefer, though I do not officially support this approach as it is prone to many more mistakes, particularly if you are trying to set up Skypewatch that way also.
