Hello,
not sure if the A is the highligted letter for Add contact. I recommend you
to press enter instead, you will land on a two options menu, choose "Search
in Skype directory". Alternatively, instead of starting from the contacts
menu, from the contact list press tab till you find "Add contact" button,
and activate it with a spacebar.
