I was just trying that sugestion and yes it works.

The impression is that effectively that window does not automattically pop up anymore. So you will
have to press ctrl+2 for going to the conversations lit, usually the first of the raw is the person
who added you, but it's anyway distinguishable cause it says that "this person is not in your
contact list". Here press applications key and go where it says "Add to contacts".
