Hello Sugar,
if you use Windows 7, there should be a checkbox possibly in the Advanced
Skype options if I'm not wrong, which says "keep Skype in the taskbar while
I am connected", try turning it off. Note that this will only close the
Skype main window, but till Skype is running you can view its icon in the
system tray (JAWSKey+f11). If you want to completely quit Skype, use the
system tray icon's context menu, or press alt+shift+f4 twice in quick
succession.
