Thanks a lot Doug
Finally, I'll leave the defaults unchanged. The only thing I do is
translating the Spanish equivalents for the keys representing symbols.
Concerning the formality, I am writing properly but with some grade of
informality, because the Spanish versions of services like Skype and Windows
Live, use an informal language, in contrast with the formality on Windows
earlier than 8 and MS Office. Altough the formality or informality in
English is much more sutile for non-native speakers, in Spanish is obvious
depending on if the user is treated of usted or tú. By the way, I'm making
the translation treating the user of tú, as Skype does.

Thanks for your support!

Asunto: Re: [Skypeenglish] question on translating Skype scripts help

My preferences on Skype script localization, off the top of my head and with
just about zero forethought :-) :

1. Try to keep text similar in meaning to what I said, including things like
level of formality / properness.

2. Preserve what functionality you can across the language change. For this
case, that means if you need to change default keystrokes, you can do so
with my blessing. Btw, you can distribute skype.ini or change the skype.jss
line that creates the default key mapping in that file - somewhere around
line 5155 (val = "[") in the latest script release I think.

3. Indicate in source files who translated them while leaving other
attributions as they are.

Hi Michele
Efectively, most Spanish users changed the default command key because on
international Spanish keyboard layout is the acute accent, the accent used
in Spanish words requiring it.
Changing this default on the localized version is a good idea. Changing it
to the key that on US layouts represents equal sign would be optimal as is
apostrophe on international Spanish and backslash on Latin American.
As this is not on the JSM, I should study if I have to change this using the
Keyboard Manager or editing the JKM inside Script Manager. Obviously it can
be modified on the Verbosity Options dialog, but it is for the user and I
think about editing the default behavior.
Last, but not least, it is necessary to know what Doug thinks about a change
like this on the localized version. If he don't agrees with a change like
this, I'll not do that.

Best regards!

Hey Fernando, not Doug here but I think I got your issues.
What I recommend you to do is to use a different key for the Skype command
key, for example f1, instead of keeping the default key. This is because in
some latin american keyboards, it's the same key used for accent.
Bye!
