Shortage of developer documentation other than within NVDA source code, a lot of roadblocks like events I needed that were not present in NVDA but were in JAWS, then for a short time, a contract that actually forbade me to work on GNU projects for the contract duration. Now it's lack of time I suppose. In any case I believe NVDA now contains Skype code, so it's probably moved into the realm of NVDA or app module updates rather than addon development.
