The long and the short is no. NVDA will read chat messages as they come in. it will not report who goes on line and other skype alerts. There is no easy keyboard means of rereading chat messages. Skype offers some quick methods to move to objects on the screen like the contact list alt+1 and the recent chat list alt+2. After that you are going to use the tab key a lot. NVDA allows for moving threw objects with a touch screen if you happen to have one. I have not figured out how to get a context menu for objects using the touch screen. Jaws does allow for this. I am having some issues though with jaws and the options tree view working with touch. Will try on NVDA to see if it works better and report back. I love my new venue tablit.
