I'm having the same problem. It's infuriating. But it happened with 6.14 as well. I upgraded to 6.16 and it didn't help. Maybe we could roll back to the very first Skype 6 and that would help, but I don't think you can roll back easily with these newer skypes since 5 or so. On that same note I would like to know if it is possible to roll back to version 6.14? In tis latest version when I try to host a conference call it always puts whoever is already in the call on remote hold when I invite the next caller into the conference.
