I probably missed some of this thread, but I can tell you that
Ctrl+Shift+O is broken because there is no longer an airtight way to
provide that functionality due to changes in Skype itself.
For the curious, there are two basic problems: First, the contact list
is not available to a script until you display it by typing Ctrl+1
with scripts, or Alt+1 without them. Second, even if it is displayed,
the format of a contact list entry is such that picking out the online
status accurately can require an understanding of the active language,
which is not practical for a JAWS script. The format is Skype name,
comma, status, comma, mood text if any; but the name field can contain
a comma, making it unsafe to count commas from the beginning; and a
mood text can also contain a comma, making counting from the end a bad
idea as well.

Using skype 6.8still has it's problems, I think.
For example, when I get a chat message, it doesn't pop up in a window
