Greetings, fellow skypers:

I have contacts that show as online as their status.
I click on the call button, and there's no ring, and the call ends automatically and Jaws rightly says "no answer". Skype's been known to show people as online when they're not. Is this what's happening? Sometimes it does ring, and nobody answers; no problem when that happens, obviously.

Jerry.

Hello Doris,
this procedure is layd out with the commands of Doug's scripts, which
you installed if I am not wrong...
1. Press ctrl+2 for the conversations list, and scroll it with arrows
till you find the one with the person who sent you the message.
2. Start a chat with this person. If enter is configured to start a
call, you can press applications key, then choose send IM.
3. Press ctrl+5 to focus the conversations messages list, or inbox.
4. Press the end key, and if you find something else than the voicemail,
go up with arrow till you find it.
5. Tab till you get to the Play button and press space.
Let me know if it does not work for you since I do not receive
voicemails since much time, so I was unable to test it recently.
Bye!
Barbuz

when I enter the chat, ctrl does nothing for me. arrowing around
takes me to something that talks about a voice message but neither
entering on it nor the application key gives a listening option.

any suggestions, plplease?

Doris

Subject: [Skypeenglish] Problem installing and compiling scripts
revision 851 under Windows XP SP3
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed

Hello Doug and all,

A few friends of mine reported that the last revision of the scripts -
851 - fails to compile them correctly under Windows XP SP3 with latest
Windows updates installed (though I don't know if the Windows updates
matter or not in this case). During the install process or if installed
manually - during the compilation process, the "freedom scientific
script compiler" application crashes with the standard error dialog for
Windows XP (the one with the "Send" and "Don't send" buttons). Under
Windows 7 and 8.1, there are no such issues. Revision 807 didn't do
those issues. Has anyone else encountered such issues?

And another problem with the scripts, this time with the installer
itself. In this case, I don't know if the OS version matters or not. The
scripts installer (even the older one for revision 807) sometimes
doesn't detect some of the JAWS versions installed. On one machine, it
detected only JAWS 10, even though there were at least JAWS 13 and 15
also installed. Not to mention, that even if it detects such old
versions of JAWS (like 10), the installer should not show them for
selection for installation, because the new scripts don't support them.
But it does. Has anyone else encountered such issues?

Note: In both cases, we are talking about the original scripts
installers, created by you, Doug.

Thanks much in advance!

___
Best wishes,
Kostadin Kolev

Hey Kostadin,
I had a Skype chat with Doug Lee who I sent a message to try to inform
him of the issue, and he's from his iPhone probably and cannot look at
the code right now.
In short, there may be strange compiler crashes on xp, but he saw them
not in a long time and only in two machines at the most; there where
some problems and a JAWS update with xp and browsers, but he did not
find problems on scripts manager itself. At last, he cannot tell
anything about the second issue yet.
Bye!

Adding message from Doug.
*****************
More information on the second issue: I believe the installer uses
registry entries created by the jaws installer to find installations. If
people installed jaws in an irregular way, such as by simply copying
files, it may not find those. Is that possible in this case?
