Hello,
I don't think those versions of JAWS were installed in an unusual way,
but I guess that it may as well be that the registry keys with the
information about installed JAWS versions may be damaged and due to that
the scripts installer can't detect those copies of JAWS on the system.
The Windows registry is very fragile in principle, specially on Windows
XP - I know it from my own experience.

More information on the second issue: I believe the installer uses
registry entries created by the jaws installer to find installations. If
people installed jaws in an irregular way, such as by simply copying
files, it may not find those. Is that possible in this case?
