Hi!

Having downloaded the new Skype add-on for NVDA today, and finding that
NVDA+h didn't work as advertised to display instructions for using this
add-on, with the necessary keystrokes and so on, I would like to give users
of this new add-on a useful tip. This applies to English-speaking Skype
users, I'm not sure if it'll work for other languages.

First of all, once you've downloaded and installed the NVDA add-on, you
should also download the translation of the instructions: a link was posted
to the latter on this list recently, after the announcement of the add-on's
release.

As the translation of the Read Me is a .rar file, this has to be extracted,
using 7zip or a similar program, ideally to the following folder:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\nvda\addons\Skype7\doc

Replace the word "username" in this path by your own user name for Windows.

You can also extract the Read Me to another folder, as I did, then copy it
into the folder whose path I gave you above.

I should point out that this path is for Windows 7: I don't remember exactly
how such paths worked in XP, as I haven't used it for nearly four years, and
I have never use Windows 8 or 8.1 so I don't know what the path would be for
those either.

However, once the English Read Me folder is extracted to the right location,
pressing NVDA+h from within either the main Skype window or any chat window
will open the instructions for the add-on.

I hope this all makes sense, and is useful for anyone else using the new
Skype add-on for NVDA.

Bye for now, and happy skyping!
