Hi! Thanks, Barbuz, for letting members of this list know that it is better not to publicise the new Skype 7 add-on for NVDA, because it has technical and security problems. I had already read this bad news on the NVDA list I belong to, and I probnably should have forwarded it to this Skype list, but the warning on the NVDA list contained some technical terms which even quite a few of us regular NVDA users don't understand. However, after reading the email below, members of this Skype list now know the main reasons why the new Skype 7 add-on for NVDA is no longer recommended. On the NVDA list we were even asked to remove this add-on because of the technical and security problems it could cause, and I have already done that. It is a pity that this add-on is considered unsafe, as I know it could have proved useful to many NVDA users who also use Skype. >From what I have read on the NVDA list recently, I understand that NVDA 2015.1 will include improvements to Skype accessibility. Speaking for myself, I have been using Skype without problems for quite a long time without any add-ons, but I know plenty of NVDA users who don't find Skype easy to use, so improvements to accessibility through NVDA itself will certainly be welcomed. After all, those of us who use NVDA full-time have usually chosen to do so, and we'd like Skype to continue to work well with the screenreader we use on a daily basis.
