Thank you very much! I tried that, and it worked great. After doing a test
call, I found that the external mike does distort just a tiny bit, but overall,
not too bad.

I'm in the process of trying to use skype with an external microphone. I have
one of those microphones to which you can simply plug into the microphone jack
on the front of the computer, then clip onto your shirt so that your hands are
free to operate the computer. This jack is usually directly to the left or
right of the headphone jack. Anyway, when I plugged it in, my screen reader's
progress indicaters started beeping, to indicate that drivers were being
downloaded. There was no error message of any kind. Then when I went to the
audio settings of skype, there's a drop-down menu or combo box, where you can
apparently choose which mike you want to use. Normally when I visit this combo
box, there's usually only two options:

1. my usb microphone and

2. an option called stereo mix, which I have no idea what that does in skype.

This combo box is kind of weird to navigate through, because when I'm at the
top of the list, my screen reader says, microphone yetti 1 of 2. But if I arrow
down, I hear, stereo mix 1 of 2. When I connected the external microphone,
instead of two options, I saw three, but the thing is, I can't navigate to the
third option, which I believe is the external microphone. Is there something
I'm forgetting to do? It would be nice, if I could use my external microphone
during my up-coming radio show on ACB Radio Interactive, so this way, I can
take requests privately without broadcasting the conversation, while using my
usb yetti mike strictly for live station breaks. I don't have a mixer, so I
have no way to route where sound goes. So how do I get skype to recognize this
external microphone when its connected? Thanks.
