Hi all.
I only noticed the volume dropping when making a call. When JAWS says Call
To...the volume drops for maybe a second.
I decided it's not really a problem for me, because, I usually know who I'm
calling. That's the only time I've noticed this problem.
I'm still using Skype 7.0.0.102 with windows 7 and JAWS 15.
I haven't seen any indication that skype or the scripts need to be updated.
Receiving files is still a pain. Hopefully Doug can solve that one with the
next update.
Jerry.

Mike, I do not use Windows 8.1 myself, but since others recommended this
one, try typing windows+r and see what happens. If by the run box you do
not manage, it should be in the Audio section of the control panel.
Bye!

Ah, thanks for finding a few dusty corners for me. :-)
1. The refocusing of the chat input box is a side effect of all my
attempts to keep focus off of things people don't want focused,
such as ads and "unknown field" areas. Fixed for next release.
2. I noticed the "unknown field" problem very early in the new UpArrow
functionality, and I reported it. Skype is not placing focus correctly
on the message list control, and my scripts report "unknown field"
because of this. As an aside, I also recommended against making
UpArrow move from chat input to message list, but obviously it still
happens when Accessibility mode is enabled.
3. Indeed I had not looked at the manual-install page for some time.
The paragraph you noticed is now also updated.
Thanks again.

Hello all,
I've noticed a few things about Doug's JAWS scripts for Skype, witch I want
to
bring to your and Doug's attention.
1. With the scripts installed, when we are in a conversation window and the
focus is in the chat entry edit field and we try to move the focus to the
chat
content list with a few presses of Shift+TAB, it fails. The scripts keep
moving the focus back to the chat entry edit field. Is this intentional?
2. With the scripts installed, when we are in a conversation window and the
focus is in the chat entry edit field and we try to move the focus to the
chat
content list by pressing up arrow once (it works with Skype's accessibility
mode enabled), the focus seams to land in the chat content list, but JAWS
keeps saying "unknown field", no matter how many times we press the up/down
arrows in there. We have to press TAB at least once (sometimes even more
times) to make the scripts aware that the focus is in the chat content list.
The 2 issues mentioned above seam not to be language-dependent, because they
occur even with the scripts and Skype in english.
3. The guide for manual scripts installation seams to be a little
out-of-date.
The JUnpack utility for unpacking the scripts ZIP archive is mentioned, even
though the scripts no longer have a ZIP version. Not only that, but the URL
address to download the JUnpack utility is wrong. It points to:
http://randylaptop.com/projects/JUnpack/
witch address gives a 404 error.
Thanks much in advance!

Thank you Kostadin,
The second way is acceptable, although it is strange that the first method
works only when the accessibility mode is disabled.
I tried to see if it appears the edit message menu item in my last message
in a closed chat, but it doesn't. So I'll try with another occasion in a
current chat... maybe it will work.

Hello Octavian,
There are I think at least 2 ways to do it.
1. Disable the accessibility mode of Skype from Tools -> Optioms ->
Accessibility. When this is disabled, pressing up arrow from the chat
entry edit field will copy your last sent message in that conversation in
the edit box for editing as before. But I don't recommend disabling
Skype's accessibility mode.
2. Move the focus to the chat content list, select the chat message that
you want to edit, press the "applications" key to invoke the context menu,
and from it choose "Edit message". That will copy the message in question
to the chat entry edit field from where you can edit and resend it.

Hello,
A long time ago, when using Doug's scripts for Skype, I was able to
press the up arrow after I sent a message, and the text of that message
was copied in the edditing area, so I was able to edit it and press
enter to resend it. This way I was able to edit the last sent message.
I was able to do that for a short period of time. I've seen that I was
able to do the same thing when I used the default scripts for Skype
which are provided by FS.
Now if I press the up arrow, I hear just "unknown field".
Do you know how we can modify the last sent message if the up arrow
doesn't work for this?
Thanks

Hello Octavian,
I've read in the Skype forums, that from some time now, you can edit
only messages that are no older than I think 30 minutes, but I may be
wrong about the exact time interval after witch you can't edit a message.
