Im not sure what version I have, but when I look for updates, I am told I have the latest version and I have found the way to accept contacts which works for me. Ctrl2, for recent messages and find the person you wish do add, then enter, to select. Ctrl5 will allow you to tab and you have two choices: accept or decline. Tab once to accept, then press the space-bar and the job is done. Hope somebody will find that useful.
