Hey Beverly, quite easy...
Way no.1: from within a Skype chat, press f2.
Way no.2: from within Skype (no matter if contact list or chats), press
JAWSkey+v, then down arrow till you find "Speak message times when shown
by Skype", and uncheck it with a spacebar. Then press enter or esc to
exit the JAWS options dialogue.
