Hi all.
I found the CTRR/SHFT/M command does work when in a chat/conversation
window.
In a chat window, one tab gets you to the insert emoticon button.
Then, just type the first letter of the emoticon you want, Enter when you
hear it, which takes you back to the chat window, and automatically inserts
your chosen emoticon.
Then, just send.
Jerry.

Hello Doug and all,
A few friends of mine who use the additional JAWS scripts for Skype have
reported that the Control+Shift+M command from the scripts does not work
as expected. When pressing it, the scripts only report "Not in a
conversation window" and the "Insert emoticon" window does not appear.
The scripts are the latest revision 942 and Skype is 7.16. If I'm not
mistaking, all of them use Skype in bulgarian. Is there a language
dependency for this command? Should I need to translate something
somewhere in the scripts, so the command works as expected?
Thanks much in advance!

I don't see anything in that script that should be language dependent. I am
considering removing that command
again though because it only takes two tabs and a space to press the button
without scripts anyway.

Hello all,
I noticed the same thing this morning. However, it's not such a big
thing, you only need to find the "insert emoticon" button which is 5 or
6 tabs below the place where you usually type.
Best regards.

Five or six? It's two here. It would be useful for me if you could tell me
which Skype version and exactly how
many Tabs from the chat input edit box.

The Skype version I have here is 7.16.85.102. As for tabs, they are as
follows:
1. Send Image
2. Send File
3. Send Video Message
4. Send Contacts
5. Insert Emoticon or Moji
I hope this is the answer you were looking for?
Best regards!

Yes that was exactly what I needed, and better than I asked for. :)
I do wonder why your tab order is so different than mine in the same Skype
version though. I've tried with
accessibility mode both on and off, and that did not change my tab order. My
first tab is a More button that
does nothing obvious when I press Space on it, and my second tab is the
Insert Emoticon or Moji button. I
tried with my Skype window both Restored and Maximized.

I'm so sorry, I can't answer this question. No idea why this difference
exists. I didn't do anything special to my Skype, I just installed it
and updated it from time to time. But I should also mention that I know
as much about how computers work as a soccer player knows about ancient
greek philosophy, so this doesn't mean anything. Anyway, if there is
anything more I can do, please let me know.
Best!

Hello Doug,
As far as I'm aware, the "more" button expands (and probably -
collapses) the so called "Media toolbar". If the "Media toolbar" is
expanded, all of its buttons (described by Mr. Dragomir) will be shown
and the TAB presses needed to focus the "Insert Emoticon or Moji" button
will be more than they are if the toolbar is collapsed and the buttons
are hidden. The "media toolbar" has been introduced in Skype 7.16. More
on that here:
http://blogs.skype.com/2015/12/03/skype-7-16-for-windows-app-making-it-easier-to-share-content
Hope this helps to clarify things at least a little bit. (smile)
