Hi ! Here is a slight correction to the instructions below.
Although there is an NVDA add-on to view what is in the system tray, this is just an optional extra. The system tray can be reached with windows+b using NVDA: in fact, I think windows+b is a native Windows keystroke, so I'm not sure why other screenreaders put in their own keystrokes to access the system tray. Anyway, apart from the slightly misleading information about how to get to the system tray with NVDA, the instructions below to Exit Skype completely are correct. Bye for now! >From Clare From: Skypeenglish [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michele Barbi via Skypeenglish Sent: jeudi 17 mars 2016 12:19 To: screen readers' access to skype and its interface. Subject: Re: [Skypeenglish] how do you shut down skype without a reboot? Hello Ken, if you're using Doug's scripts for Skype, try a double alt+shift+f4. Otherwise, or even if you don't feel good with this command since it's a three keys combination, do the following: 1. press insert+f11 to view the system tray list. Note that if using NVDA you will have to use an addon for this command to work; 2. if you see the Skype icon with your online status, press enter on it; 3. scroll the menu, choose exit, and confirm the request.
