There is no option in Skype to put Skype in the System Tray. The best you
can do is one of the following:
1. Under Tools/Options/Notifications, check all notifications to appear in
the System Tray.
2. Go to the System Tray with the Windows Key plus the letter B and click
the Chevron button. Click Customize. Try to find skype by arrowing left and
right. If Skype is unchecked to appear in the System Tray, check the check
box. Tab to OK and press Enter.
3. Restart the PC. If you were able to find a button for Skype in the
Notifications section of Customization after pressing the Chevron button,
Skype should now appear in the System Tray.
4. If Skype did not appear in the list of System Tray items to check and
uncheck notifications, the last thing to try is to check the item in
Customization which reads, Allow All Icons in System Tray. If this does not
work, chances are that Skype will not appear in the System Tray, no matter
what steps you try to take.
