Mostafa, I’m sorry, you were chastised for stating your case. I thought, this
was a non judgmental list and hope, it was just one member’s opinion. As to
your computer not changing after you did what you could, you will learn, our
computers don’t like change. When we change a setting or make a radical
adjustment, our computer may not change, instantly. Sometimes, it takes
several restarts, before the changes are rooted. These devices are strange
animals, indeed. As to Skype being as good as it gets, I can agree, it has
many issues, not yet addressed by Microsoft, as my questions to the list can
attest. Our Script Master does what he can, but there appears to be unresolved
issues and like you, I am left frustrated. Hugs, Frank of Paradise

I use Skype for windows, the latest of course. However, I took my
laptop to work couple of days ago and signed out from Skype to not
receive alerts or that I may forgotten to set it on do not disturb.
Anyway, I went to sign back in and it gave me the following message.
Cookies must be allowed. I figured on my default browser, which is
firefox how to change that and I enabled cookies. Well, the same
message is still being spoken even after uninstalling both twice,
Skype and firefox. I even removed all Skype data from the C. Still,
that hasn't fixed the problem. It insists to remember my Skype name,
and the password field is not even shown because it is remembered
despite two attempts to remove all Skype related information. Most
absurdly, though, I even attempted to create new account and well, the
process is never finished because the service is temporarily
unavailable. That's the message I get when I am almost done. This is
frustrating indeed and I'd like to notify Skype developers, that I am
extremely disappointed with their service. The quality of what used
to be the worldwide reliable chat client is not good enough. Please,
pass this on to whoever works for them. I believe some Skype
developers may watch the list and thus, I wanted to make this clear,
this is heavily unsatisfying.

this doesn't seem to be a problem with firefox or skype never heard of
something like this. but I think you had better understand something
absolutely your not going to like this but I think everyone on this list
will tell you the same. developers don't owe you or anyone else here on
this list one thing. skype is still a very good and very reliable product I
participated in a game on skype the other day with only one major issue and
that was a a strange stuttering issue in the audio. I'm pretty sure it was
weather related. not sure why you signed out I have my skype set to sign me
in automaticly when skype starts. also have it set to start automaticly
when windows starts. you might before complaining about how rotten skype is
to developers work on troubleshoting a problem. did you scan for
viruses/malware? what windows version are you using and a few other things
like that to consider. but don't blame developers for every little issue.
the developers of programs or websites don't owe any of us anything just
because we are blind. that's not something you may like to or even want to
hear, but it's a fact.

I also never have heard of this. I would uninstall skype and FF, scan the
computer with avast or what ever you use, reinstall skype, sign in, reinstall
firefox, and see if that goes away.

If you have any complaints contact skype through the contact form they have on
their page. I would use the forums but they have become inaccessible for mac
and windows on a;; browsers and nvda.

Hi all. My work will be switching to office 365 Skype for business for Mac, for
instant messaging purposes. Has anybody had any experience with this? How
accessible is this with voiceover?
Any information people can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hope Paulos

Amen Ken!
Skype gives their product away for free to the entire world and has for
years on the hope that some day they will find some way to be repaid that
won't have to come from it's free subscribers.

As a fellow blind person I'm just glad that they created something that
most of the time we can use that works at all!

Next month will be 30 years since I first got involved with screen reading
tech and computers that are blind accessible.
If you think it's frustrating now you should have been around 30, 25, or
even 20 years ago when they were telling the blind community that DOS was
the best we would ever get and Windows would never be accessible for the
blind! LOL
Oh, not to mention anything and everything in those days had to be bought
and paid for, even the things that didn't work at all you bought at your
own risk no one gave any guarantees, and no such thing as a 30 day free
trial! LOL

As a community we need to have a greater attitude of gratitude, and just
not be so hair triggered to start finger pointing at developers that
disappoint us when using their free stuff. LOL

That's why we are all here now to help each other cover the ground in the
middle that the sighted world doesn't even know exists or for sure never
gives it much thought during their day while they are trying to carve out
their own way to survive.

I'm very grateful to all of you in our little blind Skype community who
helped me several years ago get my Skype feet wet. I have had much success
working with it and have been able to do things that I once was told by
well meaning sighted people would be impossible for the blind to ever do.

Love to all of you for what you do for all of us, and a very special thanks
to Mr. Doug Lee.

For ever grateful,
Mike
