Hey Bryan, I am afraid you'll have to use programs like Sam (Skype
Answering Machine), which is also a call recorder. Hope this still
works, but it's the first that comes to my mind.
Since the article you posted comes directly from Skype's FAQ, I don't
think they lied somehow... But honestly, I am unable to understand why
this decision.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I have a paid account, plenty of Skype
credit, and my own phone number, so I'm not sure that's the issue.
Thanks for the suggestion of the alternative voicemail option too. I
was thinking of getting a VoiceMail service with a dedicated phone
number and forwarding my Skype number to it when I need to, but this
may be a more elegant solution.

My custom Skype VoiceMail greeting seems to have been removed and I
cannot
record a new one. According to this article,

they are no longer allowing you to record a new one, but some people
claim
they still work. Can anyone please confirm it either way?
If they are gone, I'll have to think of an alternative solution.

Hey Bryan, I am afraid you'll have to use programs like Sam (Skype
Answering Machine), which is also a call recorder. Hope this still
works, but it's the first that comes to my mind.
Since the article you posted comes directly from Skype's FAQ, I don't
think they lied somehow... But honestly, I am unable to understand why
this decision.

It still works over here , but I also am using a paid account and this
may
be why it still works, but keep in mind that this is entirely just
guesswork

Thanks for the feedback so far. I have a paid account, plenty of Skype
credit, and my own phone number, so I'm not sure that's the issue.

for the suggestion of the alternative voicemail option too. I was
thinking
of getting a VoiceMail service with a dedicated phone number and
forwarding
my Skype number to it when I need to, but this may be a more elegant
solution.
