I've checked a Skype chat window after pressing Control+1 twice quickly and
I read on the top:
"Conversation messages 1 to 80 of 80".
Then I pressed Escape to close the virtual window, pressed Control+5 to move
to the list of messages, then pressed the Home key for a few times.
Then I pressed Insert+Tab, and JAWS told me that the list contains 160
messages. Yesterday I pressed Home for very many times in that list and this
displayed more than 5000 messages there. And there are much more than that
for sure.
The JAWS scripts can see that there are only 80 messages in total, and this
is why it doesn't display the links to previous messages.
Maybe there are too many messages and JAWS can't deal with such big numbers.

Just to complete the info on this topic: The scripted links for moving to
previous and next virtual message pages should still work, but they are
naturally limited by how many messages Skype itself shows in the list.
Once the
list is populated with a lot of messages, those links should start
appearing again.

I may be wrong but I think that's a Skype change nor is it consistent.
sometimes I can see the whole chat by using the available link but on
other chats I'm only able to access the last 100 messages using the
alt 1 feature.
to access previous messages with that person you can tab to chat
content list, which should be next to Skype translater.
